Tips for Parents
Helping your child understand when to save and when to spend is one of the first money skills they'll learn. This quiz makes it fun to explore these choices - no financial expertise needed!
Before the Quiz:
- Chat about money choices - Ask: "Remember when you wanted that special toy? Did you have enough money right away or did you need to save?"
- Keep it light - Let them know this is just for fun and learning together. There are no wrong answers!
- Share your stories - Tell them about a time you saved up for something special. Kids love hearing about when you were younger!
During the Quiz:
- Ask questions like: "What do you think would happen if you spent all your money today?" or "How would you feel if you saved for something big?"
- For younger kids, read the questions together and talk about the pictures.
- Let them answer their own way - even if they get it 'wrong,' it's a chance to learn!
After the Quiz:
- Talk about their answers - Ask: "What answer surprised you?" or "Which question was your favorite?"
- Make it real - If they didn't understand something, use examples from your family life, like grocery shopping or saving for a vacation.
- Start a mini-goal - Help them pick something small to save for, like a special treat or small toy. Even saving for a week is a big win for little ones!
