Alex Thompson

Financial Educator | Parent | Advocate for Raising Money-Savvy Kids

Alex Thompson is the driving force behind Kids Financial Guide, a platform dedicated to helping parents teach their children the why behind saving, spending, and giving—rather than just the how. As a parent of two curious young minds and a lifelong advocate for financial literacy, Alex recognized the gap in accessible, engaging, and values-driven money education for younger kids.

With a background in behavioral finance and over a decade of experience in education technology, Alex has worked with schools, nonprofits, and families to develop engaging financial literacy programs. Seeing firsthand how financial habits are shaped early in life, Alex set out to create a resource that goes beyond budgeting apps and allowance trackers. Kids Financial Guide was born out of a belief that kids don't just need tools to manage money—they need a mindset to understand it.

Why This Matters

"Money conversations shouldn't feel overwhelming or transactional. My goal is to make financial education approachable, fun, and meaningful for families. Whether it's through engaging stories, interactive lessons, or everyday teachable moments, I want to empower parents to raise financially confident kids—without needing to be experts themselves."

Through Kids Financial Guide, Alex brings together experts in child development, education, and finance to create content that speaks to both kids and parents. The mission is simple: to help families build money habits that last a lifetime.
